Welcome to Pine Cottage

Well friends, I did the thing I've been dreaming of doing. On Saturday, December 9th, our little moving caravan, which consisted of a 20 foot U-Haul filled with all our worldly possessions, a van, two kids, my husband, my mother, and my dog, left the fourth largest metropolis in the country and moved to a remote town on the eastern edge of Oregon.

We've been in our new home for one week.

We are slowly unpacking and finding our way around. The learning curve is high out here in remote and mountainous Eastern Oregon. Our curious and kind neighbors have been wonderful about dropping by and sharing little bits of winter wisdom. There are still lots of boxes to unpack, nooks to organize (and where in the world is my chef knife?) but we are enjoying our new surroundings with gusto. I'll check back in soon, but until then, here are some snap-shots from the last week.
