The Most Gorgeous Tile Ever

Hello dear readers. Sometimes the internet is like tumbling down the rabbit hole. I'm looking for one thing and it leads to another and another until I end up on a tile and woodwork site at 1am, lost to anyone in my household who may need my assistance. Last night I found Tabarka Studio and fell in love with their astonishing collections of tile and wood flooring. It's pretty dreamy... and pretty pricey, I imagine. But what the hell... a girl can dream, right?

Check out Tabarka Studio on Instagram and see these tile installations in action!

Ode to Blue-Green Tile Bathrooms

I spotted this aqua bath on Houzz.com yesterday. It's covered from floor-to-ceiling in aqua tile - a color I adore. I've seen so many gray and white bathrooms lately. While I love the look of tailored neutral hued bathrooms, this extraordinary punch of sea foam green is really invigorating.

Here are some other bathroom spaces that shine in blue and green hued tile:

Tile Floors for the Outdoor Room

Tile floors on the patio! Be still my heart. Here in Texas, I see a lot of Mexican style outdoor tile. I love the look of it. While I certainly can't afford to do a full patio as in the photos below, I sometimes dream about creating a small tile accent on the steps to my front door or a little detail work around my patio breezeway. It might be a good solution for keeping costs down but still enjoying the flavor and color that only tile can create.

Aqua Green Tile Backsplash

I keep coming back to these two images.  I'd love to have a large tiled backsplash in my kitchen, especially in one of these blue-green hues. This first image really blows me away because they extended the tile all the way up to the ceiling.  So brilliant. Do you have a tile backsplash?  Do you love it?

Do you?

Every once in a while someone will ask me, "Do you pin?"  Its funny because it sometimes feels like someone is asking if I "toke" or "party".  But instead of weed, its Pinterest, an online pin board for inspiring images, recipes, quotes and crafts.  And I suppose it is like a drug, because I'm pretty addicted these days. And it has really transformed how I search and catalog images for my blog. It's certainly not perfect, but its sure fun! Here are some randdom goodies I found on Pinterest this week.

Chevron Tile

I realize that the chevron pattern is old hat in the design world, but I love it.  I love love love love love it.  My favorite use of this famous, age-old zigzag pattern is when laid down as tile.  If I had the dough, I'd use it in my bathroom on the floor and shower.  It would also be beautiful as a wrap-around back splash in my kitchen or as flooring for our covered back patio. Where would you use it?

Black and White Tile Floors

I might never leave home if I had a bath tub like the one pictured below.  If this room were in my home, I'd extend that amazing black and white tile out into the entire house.  I don't think I've ever seen a tile shape quite like this.  Its stunning.

I also love the tile used below in this ante-room.  Its perfect for a little sun room or indoor patio.  Again, I'd extend it into the rooms that flank each side.  Its so beautiful and I imagine, cool on the feet - just the thing for a hot spring and summer in Texas.

Room by Isabel Lopez Quesada

I love this room design by Isabel Lopez Quesada.  I've had it in my inspiration file for a while now and I keep going back to it.  As I look at it, I realize that this room is totally different from anything I have in my home.  The white walls, the beautiful light, the tile floors, the mix of modern, rustic and traditional pieces - all of it speaks to me. We always want what we don't have, eh?
