A Break in the Weather

After the barrage of 100 degree days we've had this summer in Dallas, the weather finally broke.  For the past few days the evening lows have dropped into the 60's and the mornings have been hovering in the 70's.  Do you know what this means?  First, that there is a merciful God or a higher power who watches over us.  Second, that Autumn is on her way.  Fall is my favorite time of year.  I love the weather, the holidays, the clothes, and most importantly, the quality of light that Fall brings with her.  I'm ready for that slanting, focused light of Autumn to fill my home.

White and Gold for Winter

The severe weather conditions across the globe announce that winter is upon us.  If you live in one of the earth's colder climates, you may look out your window this morning and see the sun's rays attempting to break through that thick layer of foggy white and gray.  Every once in a while a golden beam shoots through the frost and mist only to disappear as quickly as it came.  That moment of muted gold and white is today's inspiration.
